Introduction


Smithton Borough is conducting a Pedestrian Safety Study focused on improving walkability and safety along Peer Street and nearby areas.  We invite residents, visitors, local businesses and neighboring municipalities to review the proposed route options and share your feedback in our public survey.


Your input will help guide future decisions about pedestrian access, safety upgrades, and long-term planning. 


Route Options


Option A: East Side of Peer Street with New Pedestrian Bridge



  • New pedestrian bridge over the creek
  • Right-of-way though one (1) private property
  • Easements from up to five (5) properties along the existing Peer Street right-of-way
